Starting a new Church
Guess who is on the Drums?ππYours Sincerely PeeSticks π₯In the kingdom, there are no executive workers. We are all workers. If you are pastoring a new church, there are basic wisdoms you should get ooo.You need to know you are not a Super Star. You need to know you are a teacher and leader. And one of the major attribute that makes you effective is Leading by example.Starting a new Church, is a time of training, training, and more training.God will give you raw people, who are not yet fully skilled, not totally committed and still trying to understand what Followership and discipleship is all about. Itβs very important they know, itβs a privilege to serve God and it has both earthly, but most importantly eternal rewards.Itβs not the best time, to have 7 protocols following you, out of your total 9 members π.Sometimes, they will want to stop you from doing some things like cleaning the seats, or sweeping the church hall. But do them anyways. Do them happily, donβt do it as punishment. You are simply leading and showing them how to do it. You are the one to model service to them. You canβt be there, and there is a task, you or your wife can do, and you feel too big to do it. I always ask myself; if Jesus was to be here, what will He do in that situation. And you already know the answer. This attitude will help you develope talented disciples, not merchant workers that will put unnecessary pressure on the new work. For example, All those 2k per service Instrumentalists. πPastoring is Spiritualβ¦We are Pastors first, Not SuperStarsWhen you Pastor well, you will be a SuperStarBut until then, be their Pastor, trainer and model.Donβt be in haste, building-to-last takes some time.If you rush it, it will crumble on your head.Get the foundations right, like a Master Builder.Jesus took three (3) years to train twelve (12) men, who later turned the world upside down.N/BThis post is exclusively applicable to those starting up a new church. Not for already established churches. The two types of churches run on different psychology and temperature. When a church is grown and people start taking responsibilities. The psychology for training them is entirely different. There is a level you get to, you will even require paid staffs. But make sure you get to that level first. Donβt make assumptions. I think I should start a new series here, on βSTARTING A NEW CHURCH FROM THE SCRATCHβ. I only intend to be a blessing to someone here. What do you think??π₯°
